Aptina is a leader in CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) imaging technology. The company was founded in 2008 and is headquartered in San Jose, California. It was acquired by ON Semiconductor in 2014. Its digital image sensor components and processors still use standard digital and video cameras, as well as cameras built into mobile phones, computers, and surveillance equipment.
